A Certain Kind of Silence plot
Young Micha works abroad as an au pair for a wealthy family where she takes care of the autistic Sebastian, a ten-year-old boy. During a social event, Micha, who has since been renamed Mia by the family, sees an adult beating a boy with a rod. The boy remains serene and quiet under his punishment. The next day, the strange memory feels like a dream until Mia is told that if she wants to stay with the host family, she must abide by the rules.
