After a marriage that lasted for years, Marion and Gilles sit with the solicitor to sort out the details of their divorce. It gradually becomes clear how it has come to be that the once in love couple stoically split their possessions and their lives in two. The story takes a step back in time in five episodes and shows important moments in the lives of Marion and Gilles: an evening when they receive friends and the conversation takes an unexpected turn, Gilles' indifferent attitude when Marion gives birth, the wedding party when they both walk around beaming and looking forward to the wedding night, until the moment when they give each other looks in love during a holiday in Italy.
