Inspired by true events, '44' is the story of Migs, an 18-year-old high school student who kicks against the dominating powers of his father, a drug dealer and convicted felon, and his mother, an NYPD officer. For the past two years, Mids has led a double life: his ambitious and arrogant father has put Migs in charge of his drug operations while he is still incarcerated. At the same time, Migs lives with his well-meaning mother, who, however, is quite short-tempered. But with his father out of prison and trying to regain control of his affairs, and mother trying to take control of her son's life, Migs must make tough choices and find his own way.
