1210 plot
Nikolay Baranov, a veteran of the now forgotten Afghan war, is demanding the extra allowance on his pension to which he is entitled. The sum is twelve hundred and ten rubles. On the anniversary of his son's death, he is told that he will not receive the allowance. Because of this and because of his guilt, loss of dignity and total powerlessness, he commits a terrible misdeed.
