Zwart Belicht plot

Black characters often feature in Dutch paintings from the Golden Age, but until recently art historians rarely paid attention to these characters. This has changed in recent years. Zwart Belicht is a search for the hidden stories of black figures, as depicted in the paintings of Pieter Paul Rubens and artists from his circle. The film sheds new light on famous and less famous works of art, as well as on our history and culture.
