Yin Tzan-Tze plot

After the Chinese Civil War, the communists took power in China and the defeated Nationalist Government, led by Chiang Kai-shek, was forced to withdraw to the island of Taiwan with 600,000 soldiers. Many families were separated as a result. Some people did not return to the mainland until after forty years. The filmmaker focuses on the tragedy within her own family. We see her mother and father preparing the meal, singing and praying and remembering the sorrows of the past.
