Yellow is Forbidden plot

Rihanna did it: The pop singer unleashed both offline and online frenzy when she arrived at the Met Gala in 2015. The reason? Her striking, hand-embroidered, canary yellow dress. It didn't take long for attention to shift from the wearer to the designer of the rug: the Chinese Guo Pei. Experienced documentary maker Pietra Bretkelly followed Guo for three years. With great admiration but at the same time critical attitude, Bretkelly documents Guo's drive, artistry, rigor and acumen. We witness the contradictions confronting the new face of haute couture: tradition versus modernity, acceptance versus prejudice.
