Wukan: Minzu Zhi Guang plot

Wukan, a village in China's Guangdong province, reached a unique social point for this country in 2012: democratic elections. Such an exceptional phenomenon that it even attracted the attention of the international press. The elections were not won without a struggle; it was preceded by weeks of protest and the death of one of the activist leaders. In the end, the villagers managed to oust the incumbent village council.
