Women Ceng Jing De Wuchanzhe plot
Portrait of post-Maoist China in twelve comments from Chinese residents. Each chapter begins with a black-and-white recording of a small group of children reading one anecdote from a magazine in the street. Together with the larger stories of a farmer who complains about the corrupt system, fishmongers, millionaires who talk about Russian prostitutes and the prices, a park manager and hotel staff who complain about their hopeless existence, these texts paint a diverse picture of a China that is still developing at lightning speed, but in which there seems to be little room for individual needs.
