Wojtek: The Bear That Went to War plot

Documentary about the remarkable life story of Wojtek, a 230 kg bear who became the mascot of a number of Polish refugees and soldiers during the Second World War. Wojtek was adopted in Iran in 1942 by a group of Polish refugees who were traveling through the Middle East to Palestine to join the Allied army. He was still a young animal then. Wojtek would later fight alongside the Poles, sharing their beer and cigarettes, and eventually their fate. By understanding the life and death of this unique creature, we discover new meanings to the terms immigrant, patriot, and as human beings.
