Willkommen auf Deutsch plot

The ever-increasing number of refugees is a problem that is confronted every day in the news. But what about when we live in the immediate vicinity of an asylum seekers' home? Are prejudices reinforced or broken down and how tolerant is the German citizen really? In the Harburg district, an idyllic piece of land between Hamburg and the Lüneburg Heath, a new home for traumatized refugees is being built. Documentary makers Carsten Rau and Hauke Wendler follow both refugees and villagers for a year.
