William Kentridge: Anything Is Possible plot
Artist William Kentridge (Johannesburg, 1955) has many talents: from sculpting to drawing, from paper cutting to making animated films and from weaving carpets to making operas. Through his moody black-and-white drawings and animation films, Kentridge explores the fraught past of his homeland South Africa. William Kentridge is at home in many disciplines, but in the midst of his extensive oeuvre, his animation films are perhaps the most impressive. The documentary also highlights other aspects of the artist's career. A common thread in the film is Kentridge's artistic contribution to the performance of Shostakovich's opera 'The Nose', which premiered in New York in 2010.
