The filmmaker Michael Almereyda, who met the photographer William Eggleston in the early 1990s, spent a long time with the sometimes mysterious master of color photography. The result is not only an introduction to his oeuvre, but also an intimate portrait of Eggleston when he is not at work. Almereyda's starting point is the question: how is it possible that someone sees the world so differently that photographing apparently everyday and inconspicuous objects results in charged and meaningful photos?
