"Nobody wins when the reasons for a revolution are forgotten"
Like all Egyptians, Mohamed Siam learned to fear the police, especially the plainclothes police. Under the rule of President Hosni Mubarak, corruption and impunity reigned. Anyone who fell into the hands of the police faced assault or worse. On January 25, 2011, fear turned to anger and revolution erupted in Cairo - on National Police Day, of course. The start of the uprising also marks the beginning of Siam's investigation into the motives of the police force men. He enters into a conversation with a plainclothes agent, who has his own reasons for drawing hope from the revolution. Siam visits him for three years, at his home far outside Cairo and at work in the city.
