Verweesd Eigendom plot

Decades after the Second World War, families continue to fight for the family heirlooms that were taken from them. This documentary shows that restitution is often about much more than objects: it touches upon identity, family history, and historical awareness. Two concrete cases are followed in which attempts are being made to recover family heirlooms through the Restitution Commission. In parallel, researchers from the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands are followed as they actively search for the descendants of approximately 3,300 'orphaned objects'.
