Vacances au Pays plot

Director Jean-Marie Teno travels through Cameroon to the places of his childhood. Yaoundé, the city where he lived, still has no good drinking water and his old school is in ruins. The education he received there was European and therefore universal and modern. However, after thirty years of independence, Teno has doubts about the values that his country and himself aspired to at the time. Yaoundé is still not Manhattan, he notes dejectedly.
