Unseen: The Lives of Looking plot

Artist Dryden Goodwin visits an eye surgeon, a NASA researcher and a lawyer who specializes in human rights in this documentary essay. He sketches a portrait of these special eyewitnesses both literally (with a pencil) and figuratively (with his camera). Concrete images emerge from patterns of light and color. People, a city, the world. Scan and focus. Thus begins this unconventional reflection in which three people share with us their intensive relationship with seeing in the literal and figurative sense. The human rights lawyer notes that the picture only becomes clear when you look through the client's eyes. The planet explorer endlessly studies the rocks on Mars and Earth, until the hidden story is revealed. The eye surgeon talks about his empathy for people who are in danger of losing their sight.
