"A comic book historical novel with the feel of a cartoon film documentary"

Angono Mba, a plucky eighties, originally from Equatorial Guinea (once a Spanish colony), is sitting in his living room somewhere in Spain. He tells in impeccable Spanish how he worked as a carrier for the Spanish director Manuel Hernández Sanjuán during an expedition in Guinea between 1944 and 1946. The director then wanted to make a documentary about colonial Africa. At the same time, Hernández Sanjuán also went in search of a mysterious lake where, according to legend, 10,000 elephants would live. Angono talks about his special relationship with Manuel, but also about their different view of reality.
