Ultima Patagonia plot

For two months, the Chilean island of Madre de Dios in Patagonia will serve as a base for an expedition consisting of about forty scientists. The turbulent ocean, strong winds and almost daily torrential rain make the conditions very difficult. Still, marble glaciers, cathedral-sized ice caves, and old-growth forests that seem straight out of a science fiction movie provide a fascinating environment for scientists.
