Tuan Papa plot
the story of the Dutch soldiers in Indonesia and the children they fathered with Indonesian girls during the colonial war 1946-1949. Fathers, mothers and children have their say. Veterans over 80 openly talk about their wartime loves. They had barely outgrown puberty when they left for the Indies - often still virgins. One experienced two pleasurable weeks in exchange for clothing and food, another made wedding plans after two years of romance. But after the handover of the archipelago to President Sukarno in 1949, they all had to return to the Netherlands. They left behind thousands of children in the new republic and once home they kept their secret to themselves for a lifetime.
