Tropengraf, een West-Indische Overlevering plot

On August 27, 1913, the white assistant of a Dutch farm owner is found dead on an ostrich farm in an outer district of Curaçao. Rumors circulate that money, adultery and jealousy are involved. But due to lack of evidence, the case is closed and all possible witnesses have now died. Using authentic image and sound material, the documentary investigates the unsolved murder, without still wanting to point out a culprit. At the same time, the film provides a picture of the relationships between white plantation owners, the Dutch authorities and the black residents in the outer districts at the beginning of this century.
