Trip along Exodus plot
The bodyguards, the weapons and the mystery surrounding her usually absent father: Hind Shoufani (1978) didn't know any better as a child. Only later does she realize that Elias Shoufani was one of the leaders of the Palestine Liberation Organization PLO. In the early 1970s, the left-wing, fiercely secular intellectual gave up a promising academic career in the US and his first marriage for the Palestinian cause. Because of his opposition to Yasser Arafat's leadership, Shoufani eventually fled to Lebanon and Syria. For five years, daughter Shoufani - filmmaker and poet - interviewed her father about his life and the Palestinian liberation struggle. In a powerful visual and poetic style, Shoufani sketches the fascinating history of her father - and finds herself in it too.
