Trainer! plot

Serkan Sert is 21 years old and the new trainer of the D3 pupils of football club De Meern. A young Turk in the midst of eleven Dutch boys from a Vinex neighborhood near Utrecht. The players have only one dream: to become a professional football player. Serkan, the son of a Turkish guest worker who came to the Netherlands in the 1970s, is a trainer with a mission. He thinks the education of his players is more important than that they become the best football players. His training method is 'hard with a soft hand'. He sees training his white pupil team as his calling. It is his way of contributing to Dutch society. Serkan, who himself played football at a high level for a short time at TOP Oss, lets his pupils into their dream, even though he knows better. "None of these eleven boys goes to Real Madrid."
