Three Days in Auschwitz plot
In 2010, Philippe Mora visited the Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps for the first time and filmed the visit. He knew that many of his relatives had been killed there. That year he also found more than 250 documents from Poland and Leipzig describing the fate of the seven Morawski relatives. In 2012, he visited the camps again with his friend Harald Grosskopf. The two visits led to a personal inquiry into Holocaust-related compensation, using the Morawskis, his murdered family, as a portal to the shocking world of Nazi barbarity and looting. With billions of dollars missing, for millions of victims and heirs, the problem remains an open wound, the legacy of unprecedented crimes against humanity. This film documents this odyssey to the heart of evil, both past and present.
