Gilberto Valle, better known as the "cannibalistic cop," was convicted in March 2013 of planning kidnappings and his ideas about eating young women. Valle argued that it was all fantasies. The jury was convinced by the prosecution and Valle faced a life sentence. This was when filmmaker Erin Lee Carr started visiting him in prison. After being incarcerated for 22 months, the judge's verdict was reversed and Valle was released.
