Theatre of Horrors: The Sordid Story of Paris' Grand Guignol plot

In 1897, Bram Stoker published the book Dracula. In that same year, the Frenchman Oscar Méténier founded a grotesque horror theater called Grand Guignol. Here, gruesome scenarios and situations were presented to an unsuspecting audience—with bloody melodramas, expressions of death and destruction, and the moaning and screaming of both the victims and the audience. Here is the story of the Parisian horror theater that revolutionized how death is represented in the arts. With narration by the 'scream queen' of yesteryear, Barbara Steele.
