The United States of Hoodoo plot

An image of how African spirituality has influenced America and continues to do so. The ancient African gods have taken on new forms since their arrival on the North American shores. Their spirits now manifest themselves through turntables, improvisation, modern artwork, performances and rituals. Through encounters with musicians, writers and artists, healers, cooks and blues musicians, the documentary paints a portrait of a culture that displays a unique mix of different ethnic influences.
