The Turandot Project plot

Report on the realization of the grand performance of Puccini's opera Turandot by conductor Zubin Mehta and director Zhang Yimou in the Forbidden City in Beijing. The film follows the rehearsal process in Florence, and later in Beijing, where another nine performances were given. Especially in China it becomes clear how prestigious this venture was. No expense was spared to satisfy the Chinese public. In addition to an international cast of top singers and technicians, 300 soldiers were hired to play the emperor's soldiers.
