In May 2014, Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov was arrested by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for being involved in supporting the Euromaidan in Kiev and resisting the annexation of Crimea to Russia. More than a year later at the end of the trial, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for committing crimes "of a terrorist nature".
