The Thread of Karma plot

In 1992 filmmakers Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam made a film about the search for the reincarnation of a Tibetan Lama. Now they return to Tibet to see what happens to the young Phara Khenchen Rinpoche, who is the reincarnation of a respected teacher. Khenchen Rinpoche is now 20 years old and preparing for the Geshe Tongkhor, an important ceremony on the way to his goal of becoming Geshe - the Tibetan equivalent of a doctor. Khenchen Rinpoche is a bit shy, and not much different from his fellow students. Apart from that one difference: he is the reincarnation of the abbot Khensur Rinpoche, and therefore a great responsibility rests on his shoulders.
