The Suffering Grasses: When Elephants Fight, It Is the Grass That Suffers plot
"When Elephants Fight, It Is the Grass That Suffers"
Against the background of the Arab Spring and the complicated political situation in the Middle East, this film sheds light on the conflict in Syria. Seen from the perspective of ordinary citizens, who are being crushed in the still raging battle. Men, women and children who are mistreated, murdered, or driven into the humanitarian misery of refugee camps just across the Turkish border. Filmmaker Iara Lee uses interviews and amateur video footage to show how the initially peaceful revolution turned into an armed struggle, waged by civilians with diverse motives, who form an army in name only.
