The Song of Grassroots plot

Wiji Thukul, born in 1963, was not only a well-known Indonesian poet, he was above all a human rights activist who was highly critical of the Indonesian government, then led by Suharto. In 1998, when the country was ravaged by a huge economic crisis and major unrest, Thukul disappeared without a trace. Nothing more has been heard from him since then. A fate he shares with countless others.
