The Secret Disco Revolution plot

Documentary about the rise and fall of disco music in the United States. From the gay clubs on the East Coast, disco took the American dance floors by storm in the second half of the 1970s. Disco is suddenly everywhere, the rock musicians are behind. But already at the end of the decade the turning point is coming; disco falls victim to its own success, and after a real anti-disco event in Chicago, the popularity of the genre is over. Now, some forty years later, those involved are wondering what disco really meant: was it really an emancipation movement for women, gays and black Americans, or was it just fun, unpretentious dance music?
