The Road to Fame plot

In China's first official partnership with Broadway, five Chinese graduating students compete for a role in the musical Fame. The competition is tough, youth unemployment in China is high. Will the students succeed in making their dreams come true and, as children of the 1-child policy, do they not disappoint their parents, who naturally have very high expectations? As they train hard to star in the musical, they are already fantasizing about their future as stars. Will they make it through China's corrupt entertainment industry after graduation?
