The Negro Soldier plot
An African American pastor tells his congregation about the role of Negroes in the American army in wars against the British, the Spaniards and the Germans. He emphasizes the freedom obtained in exchange for their service in the army and illustrates his story with examples of famous Negroes. The second part of this documentary shows the training of troops in preparation for their deployment in the Second World War. These images are supported by a mother reading a letter from her son. The film ends with an uplifting view of the heroic deeds of black troops in the current war.
