The Man Who Crossed the Sahara plot

This movie starts with Frank Cole's grandmother. She suffers from cancer and is dying. He filmed this and it shows how much he deals with mortality in his work. In deliberate steps, the film continues with his eleven-month solo trip through the Sahara. He ends with Cole's second attempt at solo crossing the desert.
