The Judge plot

Can you divorce your husband if he mistreats you? When are you entitled to alimony? These issues are subject to Sharia law. But scribes, judges and citizens all have different interpretations of Islamic law. Opinions in the Middle East are also divided on whether a woman can be a judge at a Sharia court. Yet, since 2009, former lawyer Kholoud Al-Faqih has been able to handle Palestinian family cases as one of the first female Sharia judges, and the first in the Middle East, to handle Palestinian family cases.
