Adolpho Rollo has a five-hundred-page screenplay in his pocket, a masterpiece that the film world is undoubtedly waiting for, but has not yet been discovered by anyone. And because Adolpho can't even afford the rent for his house, he offers his screenplay for sale in an advertisement. Joe is a bon vivant and criminal who wants to become a film producer. However, his views on fundraising are remarkable to say the least. Besides Adolpho's life, Joe also drastically changes Adolpho's view of film.
