"Every City Needs Its Heroes"
'Interrupters' are former gang members who want to stop the violence in their neighborhood. Men and women who, with guts, humility and humor, strive to protect their communities from the violence they once committed themselves. They are followed over the course of a year as they try to mediate arguments and problems before they spiral out of control: two brothers who threaten to shoot each other, an angry teenage girl who has just returned from prison and a young man. who is out for revenge. It paints a picture of the persisting problems as well as the willingness to do something about them that is beginning to grow.
