The Hunt for Gaddafi's Billions plot
Shortly after the death of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, it appears that much of his enormous wealth has been diverted. Filmmakers and investigative journalists Misha Wessel and Thomas Blom follow a trail that does not lead to South Africa by accident. Out of the unlikely friendship between Nelson Mandela and Gaddafi, a bond of trust has developed between Libya and the ANC. In Johannesburg, the filmmakers come across two groups of bounty hunters, spies and arms dealers on the hunt for Libyan billions. Who will get hold of the money and will it ever be returned to its rightful owners, the Libyan people?
