The Great European Disaster Movie plot

In the not so distant future at an altitude of 30,000 feet. 8-year-old Jane Monetti is on a plane bound for Berlin Tempelhof. Far below it is the post-European Union, a group of countries that happily worked together at the start of the 21st century but have disintegrated into isolated states. Jane starts a conversation with archaeologist Charles Granda who is about to give a lecture on the European Union. He begins to explain to her what the European Union was and what was lost after its collapse.
