The Fourth World plot

In the underbelly of developing countries, still referred to by some as “third world countries”, there is a “fourth world” that most people know little about: the slums. One in six people in the world lives in a slum and that number is only increasing. Filmmaker Mark Volkers takes the viewer into this world to meet the people who live there. Showing the stories of these individuals forces us to look beyond the statistics and stereotypes.
