The First Movie plot

Film buff Mark Cousins travels to the Kurdish village of Goptapa, Iraq, once the 1988 target of poison gas attacks by Saddam Hussein. It's Ramadan, so the adults are inside and the kids hang out outside. He brings with him a projector, a screen and some classic films and gradually gets in touch with the local youth. They portray their lives, seen through their own eyes, with a digital camera that director Mark Cousins puts at their disposal.
