The Family Album plot
“The Family Album” is an experimental documentary made of 16mm family films from the 1920s to the 1950s. These family documents provide an insight into everyday life in America in the first half of the last century. The film is like a collage that starts at birth and ends at death. All important family moments are reviewed; weddings, Christmas, birthdays and holidays. The images are so characteristic and recognizable as family scenes that it feels as if they are about one family. Sound fragments of discussions at the kitchen table, parties, and children playing the piano give the images an extra dimension.
