The Fall plot
"Two women, two lives, one collision course..."
American track and field talent and then world record holder Mary Decker and controversial South African teenage runner Zola Budd were polar opposites in the middle distance. Mary was the exemplary star of American long-distance running and Zola ran barefoot, hunted by anti-Apartheid protesters. Their rivalry in the 3000m was whipped up by the media and became the event of the 1984 Olympics. 32 years after that fateful meeting on the track, Mary Decker and Zola Budd give their version of the facts.
