The Cage Fighter plot
Already at 40, Joe Carman has to deal with long hours in a boiler room, an ongoing custody battle, his wife's chronic illness, and the strain of raising four daughters. The only place he can get his fill is in the ring, where he competes in the sport of mixed martial arts. Despite the promise he made to his family to stop fighting, Joe continues to train in secret, determined to prove he can keep up with the new generation of younger, up-and-coming competitors. But as he grapples with a series of increasingly worrisome health problems, the question arises: How much is Joe willing to risk — his family, his marriage, maybe even his life — to keep fighting?
