The Bomb plot
An associative history of the atomic bomb, told through a mix of historical and contemporary footage edited together, deliberately evading a strict chronology. At the center is a killing machine that is celebrated in the bombastic military parades by the nuclear states. The film shows how the bomb has lost none of its power and perverse fascination. Mushroom-shaped fire flames explode back and forth in the air. Bright flashes appear in the sky during atomic tests involving pigs, sheep and monkeys in the Nevada desert or beyond the open sea...
