The Bituminous Coal Queens of Pennsylvania plot

Actress Sara Rush was born in Carmichaels. The town of Carmichaels (556 inhabitants) with its deteriorated living conditions is a big contrast with Hollywood. The coal mines have shaped this part of the country, instilling in the inhabitants a form of strength and pride. The film captures the life force of the community during the celebration of the 50th Queen Coal spectacle and the King Coal festival in August 2003.
