The Auction House: A Tale of Two Brothers plot

Two brothers, Anwer and Arshad, try to save their family business - the oldest auction house in India and part of the national heritage. Their grandfather had bought this from the British in 1940, after which it has remained in the family. The brothers, who have lived apart for almost their entire lives, have to adapt not only to the economic realities of modern Calcutta, but also to each other. Their entertaining, hostile and tantalizing relationship provides an intimate insight into brotherhood, migration and contemporary India.
