The Advocates plot
"Everyone needs someone who has their back"
More than half a million people are homeless in the United States - 25% of them in California. Amid public outcry at the Los Angeles homeless population — nearly 54,000 people on any given night — three individuals from three different organizations demonstrate what the lost ideal of "community care" looks like in a changing policy landscape. “The Advocates” takes a profound look at the historical and current causes of LA's unprecedented crises, largely due to low-cost housing that ultimately proved unaffordable.
